VIJAYAWADA: The budget session of AP assembly will start on March 7, with the budget for 2022-23 scheduled to be presented on March 11.
Chief minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy met governor Biswabhusan Harichandan on Monday evening, and communicated the government’s intention to hold the budget session. He also invited the governor to address the members of the two Houses on the first day of the session.
Sources say both Houses would adjourn after the governor’s address and meet again on March 8. The assembly would pass a condolence resolution on the death of late minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy on the second day and adjourn for the day.
Finance minister Buggana Rajendranath would present the 2022-23 budget on March 11. The session is likely to continue till the month-end or the third week of March, as the assembly has to elect an MLC on March 24.
The assembly secretariat has started complete sanitisation of the assembly and council premises as per Covid-19 guidelines.
