VIJAYAWADA: Chief minister Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed the officials of the education department to provide uninterrupted internet facility to all the government schools. He directed them to start the digital classrooms from the current academic year.
The chief minister held a review meeting with the officials of the education department at his Tadepalli camp office on Friday. During the meeting, the chief minister also told them to appoint a special officer to monitor the functioning of the schools and their maintenance.
He told them to start procuring tabs to be distributed to the students from Class VIII and make the textbooks available in digital format. He wanted digital interaction in the classroom as the state government has already tied up with the Byju’s for online teaching and skill training. He also reviewed the digitalisation of classrooms and said that an action plan should be prepared for setting up of smart TVs and interactive TVs in every classroom. He wanted the officials to equip the classrooms with smart TVs in all the government schools.
The CM asked them to start preparations for distribution of kits for students under Jagananna Vidya Kanuka. “These kits should be ready by April 2023 for distribution and officials must personally verify the quality of the uniforms, books, shoes and bags to be given to the students,” he instructed.
“There should not be any shortage of school books and the content should be available to all in a liberal manner for which they can be converted into PDF files. Orders should be taken from private schools on the volume of requirement in advance and supply them accordingly,” he said.
