TIRUPATI: An enraged wife brutally killed her husband following a heated altercation and surrendered before the Renigunta police near Tirupati on Thursday.
According to Renigunta CI Anju Yadav, 53-year-old Ravi Chandran and 50-year-old Vasundhara are residents are police lines locality at Renigunta. They have a 20-year-old son.
The couple were leading a disturbed family life owing to frequent altercations between them.
Following one such heated exchange of words with her husband, Vasundhara slit her husband's throat and later severed his head using a knife in a fit of rage.
She later stuffed her husband's head in a cloth bag and started walking towards the Renigunta urban police station to surrender herself.
Locals who were shocked by the incident informed the police who took Vasundhara into their custody enroute to the police station itself.
Renigunta urban CI Anju Yadav later inspected the crime scene and shifted the body of the deceased to SV medical college for postmortem.
Police have registered a case and are further investigating.
