VIJAYAWADA: Three persons were killed and 10 others injured in a road accident near Kottapalli in Prakasam district on Thursday.
According to police, a group of labourers from Mogullapalli was on their way back to their village, Boyalapalli, in an autorickshaw after working in a red chilli farm. A car going to Markapuram collided with the autorickshaw killing three people on the spot.
The deceased were identified as B Lakshmi (26), A Lakshmi Devi (40) who were travelling in the auto, and Yesupogu Prabakhar Rao (50), who was sitting beside the driver’s seat in the car.
The condition of a woman, who was in the car, is said to be critical. Two people, who were in the auto, had fractures in their legs. Another occupant received injuries to the eye. Police admitted the injured to the local government hospital. The bodies were shifted to mortuary. The police have registered a case.
