Anderson's Bookshop coming to La Grange, launches Indiegogo campaign

June 10--Anderson's Bookshop today launched an Indiegogo campaign to fundraise for a new store in La Grange, set to open later this summer.

"We're happy to be going into La Grange because it's a community that really wants a bookstore," said Sandra Law, manager of the La Grange store.

The goal of the "I Built a Bookshop" campaign is to raise $50,000 by July 10 to help offset the cost of building the independent bookstore at 26 S. La Grange Road. Each donation level -- ranging from $10 to $1,000 -- comes with a perk, such as a T-shirt, coffee mug or the "Ultimate Golden Ticket," which grants among other things VIP access to 10 author events at any Anderson's bookstore.

Located in downtown La Grange, the store will boast 5,200 square feet of selling space and feature the same stock as Anderson's two other locations in Naperville and Downers Grove before eventually expanding, Law said.

"We'll carry the same things, but once we get into the community we'll build it around what the community is interested in," she said. "The Borders that was kitty-corner to our location had a top-selling children's department, so we know it's a community with a lot of families."

Anderson's is targeting Aug. 1 as its grand opening date and plans on announcing upcoming events at the La Grange location in the coming weeks, Law said.
