Anders Lee scores twice as Islanders beat Sharks, 5-3

NEW YORK _ Anders Lee scored twice, John Tavares had three points and Andrew Ladd snapped one home early in the third to send the Islanders to a 5-3 win over the Sharks at Barclays Center.

Ladd scored off a nice feed from Mathew Barzal 3:12 into the third to snap a 2-2 tie. Thomas Greiss made 13 of his 28 stops over the next 10 minutes to keep the Isles in front and Lee cemented the win with a tap-in off a feed from Tavares off the rush.

Logan Couture completed a hat trick for the Sharks to cut the Isles lead to 4-3 with 1:52 to play but Tavares hit the empty net with 55.4 seconds to go, his first points in six games.

Josh Bailey also scored for the Islanders, a remarkable, between-the-legs goal after a Joe Thornton giveaway in the second.
