Anderlecht teenager labeled 'next Vincent Kompany' wants Liverpool transfer

Anderlecht starlet Marco Kana has admitted Liverpool would be his dream transfer move.

The 18-year-old centre-back, who was born in DR Congo but represents Belgium at U21 level, has been labeled the 'new Vincent Kompany ' by some.

Kompany is his Anderlecht coach where Kana has played five times this season at senior level. The likening to Kompany also comes from the fact he can play in midfield as well as in defence.

Kana has described those comparisons to his manager as 'very flattering' as he comes through at the same club that Man City bought a then-22-year-old Kompany from back in 2008.

But it is Liverpool, not Man City, where Kana would like to end up.

"Later, I would first like to play abroad in a top or sub-top club. And then in the best English teams, preferably in the English top five," the defender told Walfoot.

"Currently, I prefer Liverpool. They really dominate everything."

Southampton are reportedly keen to sign Kana during the January transfer window as Ralph Hasenhuttl's men aim to keep their strong start to the season going.
