Ander Herrera wage increase 'revealed' as star nears lucrative Man Utd exit

Ander Herrera will earn a significant wage increase if he completes a free transfer move to Paris Saint-Germain, according to the AS publication in the Manchester United star's homeland.

They claim that the Spaniard is "very close" to agreeing to join the Ligue 1 giants, and bring an end to five years at United when his contract expires at the end of the season.

The Basque is a favourite of the United fans, but he has been unable to agree an extension to his contract which will expire on June 30, and has been free to talk terms with European sides since January.

And it appears that terms on offer from PSG - who United beat in the last-16 of the Champions League - are very favourable to the 29-year-old.

AS claim that while United gave Herrera a "renewal offer" of £100,000 a week, PSG's deal would see him earn £150,000 a week until 2022.

Herrera recently spoke to Spanish newspaper El Periódico de Aragón about his possible departure.

Jose Mourinho reveals two things he still wants to achieve in football

"It's logical when you have three months of contract and there is a stoppage of selections, I already knew something was going to come out," he said.

"I focus on playing football in the month and a half that remains, the rest I leave to my agent, both the possible renewal with United and if he talks to another club for my departure."
