Former Manchester United midfielder Ander Herrera has described Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as "one of the best people" he has met in his career following the latter's exit from Old Trafford.
Following Saturday's 4-1 defeat to Watford at Vicarage Road, United felt they were left with no choice but to relieve Solskjaer of his duties and decided to sack him on Sunday morning, placing Michael Carrick in temporary charge.
Carrick will remain at the helm until United appoint an interim manager that will take the club forward until the end of the season, before they hope to then appoint a permanent successor to replace Solskjaer next summer.
Although his exit from the club had been brewing for several weeks, it is a sad moment for United and, of course, Solskjaer. He is a legend at the club from his playing days and is loved by thousands of people.
One of those includes former United ace Herrera, who played under Solskjaer at Old Trafford up until the end of the 2018/19 season, before making the switch to French giants Paris Saint-Germain.
The Spaniard has taken to Instagram to react to Solskjaer's exit and lauded him as an individual.
The midfielder, who posted a picture of himself and the Norwegian together, said: "One of the best people I have met in football. All the best, Ole."

Prior to Saturday's defeat to Watford, United had already decided that they would have to make a change in management, but had no immediate plans to sack Solskjaer, because they had succession plan in place.
However, the humbling in Hertfordshire means that United's hierarchy felt they were left with no choice but to relieve Solskjaer of his duties, deciding to sack him on Sunday.
Several names have been touted to replace Solskjaer on a permanent basis, including the likes of Erik ten Hag, Zinedine Zidane and Brendan Rodgers, but it remains to be seen who United could turn to.
