And just like that, Kirk Cousins is on pace for nearly 4,000 yards

There was a lot made of Kirk Cousins’ early-season struggles.

In two of the first three weeks, Cousins failed to throw for 200 yards twice. And through the first four weeks, Cousins had failed to throw for 250 yards in a single game. That would all be fine and dandy if the Vikings were winning, but the team was just 2-2 and suffered a brutal loss to the Bears in which the offense was about as stagnant as can be.

But everything has changed since then. The Vikings have won four-straight games and Cousins and been remarkable in that stretch, averaging 315 yards and 2.5 touchdowns per contest.

Per Pro Football Focus, Cousins has graded as the sixth-best quarterback in the entire NFL this season.

Cousins is on pace for 3,994 passing yards and 26 touchdowns. And most-importantly, he has the Vikings winning. At 6-2, the Vikings are second in the NFC North and would host a Wild Card game if the season ended today.

We’ll see if Cousins can keep the momentum up for the Vikings in Week 9 against the Chiefs in Kansas City.
