US pop star Anastacia was spotted by fans at a nail salon in east London - and even broke into her hit song to get one to recognise her.
The I’m Outta Love singer - who was one of the biggest stars of the early 2000s and has sold more than 50 million songs worldwide - was seen getting her nails done at a shop in Bethnal Green.
While most people at the salon recognised the vocal powerhouse, a customer named James Robertson only noticed that she spoke with an American accent and asked where she was from.
Anastacia, 57, said she was from Chicago, to which Robertson replied: “Oh wow, I’ve always wanted to go there.”
He told The Sun: “The lady sat next to me then made the comment, ‘That lady over there is actually somebody famous.’ I instantly started thinking of who she could be.”
Anastacia then began listing her own songs and performed a rendition of her best-known hit, I’m Outta Love.

The fan recalled: “I couldn’t guess, so the lady sat next to me asked Anastacia, who I didn’t know it was at the time, to name some of her songs, which she started doing.
“The first song she sang was I’m Outta Love which, come on, who doesn’t know this absolute banger? I was instantly gobsmacked!
“It was like going to a nail salon to a lockdown party! She was fab!”
Robertson shared a TikTok of Anastacia belting out her debut single while getting a manicure as the other customers in the salon sang along.
The megastar bobbed her head to the song and even gave a “Bethnal Green!” shout out to the camera in between the lyrics.
“Didn’t expect to see Anastacia casually getting her nails done in Bethnal Green,” Robertson captioned the clip.
“It was a shock to me, didn’t expect to be sat next to ANASTACIA!” he wrote in the comments, adding: “It was such a great experience!”
Anastacia topped the charts across Europe with I’m Outta Love and went on to release more hits like One Day in Your Life, Left Outside Alone and Sick And Tired.
The former Strictly Come Dancing contestant - who had neck surgery in 2021 and sparked tumour fears - is currently performing as part of her sold-out Not That Kind tour.
She played 64 shows across the UK and Europe earlier this year as part of the tour, which celebrates 25 years since the release of her debut album of the same name.
