Mom Luang Sarali Kitiyakara represented Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali Krom Muen Suddhanarinatha to turn on the lights of Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel’s spectacular Christmas tree on Ratchadamri Road on Wednesday, 1 December 2021. The annual custom to start the holiday season in Bangkok — now in its 14th year — started a monthlong series of events and exhibitions to raise much needed funds to help improve the lives of less fortunate and underprivileged children in Thailand.
The ever-popular Christmas Tree Charity Project in the hotel’s Parichart Courtyard saw six entries by some of Thailand’s young artists and designers, with the Christmas in Hometown designed by Sirawit Chaiapisit declared the winner the Princess Suddhanarinatha’s Trophy. The project also features wishes for a Christmas present that were written by girls aged four-to-fourteen and the opportunity for visitors to the hotel to donate towards or buy the specific present for the child.
A new addition to the Christmas tradition, the ART FROM HEART exhibition featured inspiring works by the young children from the Rachawadee Home for Persons with Disability Protection and Development (for Girls) in Nonthaburi. Among the art pieces were works by Pannatorn Chantasuwanno who won Gold at the 49th International Children's Art Exhibition Tokyo.
All the funds raised by the purchases of artworks and other events during the holiday season will be donated to the Child Welfare and Development Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Soamsawali, and the Home.
- ART FROM HEART is in Anantara Siam’s Lobby until 31 December 2021.
