Anantapur sub-registrar lands in ACB net for accepting bribe

TIRUPATI: Anantapur sub-registrar Satyanarayana Murthy landed in the anti-corruption bureau net while accepting bribe on Thursday.

Following a complaint lodged by the victim through the ACB mobile app, the anti-corruption bureau sleuths conducted raids and caught the accused official red-handed while he was accepting the bribe amount from the complaint.

According to the ACB sleuths, the complainant approached Satyanarayana Murthy to complete a gift-deed registration of a lodge belonging to his brother who passed away recently.

The complainant told the ACB that the Anantapur sub registrar demanded Rs.2 lakh initially and later settled for Rs.1.5 lakh to complete the gift deed registration of the property.

When ACB sleuths conducted raids, the Anantapur sub registrar was found to be accepting the bribe amount of Rs.1.3 lakh through a private person and a document writer.

The trio were taken into custody and produced before the ACB court at Kurnool.
