Anantapur district will be transformed into a Biotech park hub: Industries minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy

TIRUPATI: Andhra Pradesh industries minister Mekapati Goutham Reddy said that the state government had grand plans of transforming Anantapur district into a Biotechnology park hub in the near future.

Accompanied by ruling party legislators and officials from the state industries department, Mekapati Gautham Reddy visited a private industrial unit near Koduru village in Chilamathur mandal in Anantapur district on Monday. Later he also held discussions with the representatives of Sri Satya Sai central trust.

Speaking to reporters, state industries minister said the Satya Sai central trust representatives responded positively to the state government's efforts in reviving commercial flights at the Puttaparthi airport.

"This region which has great potential is also part of Andhra Pradesh state government's plans of establishing Information technology concept cities. Besides that we are also planning to establish a skill development centre in Anantapur district", Mekapati Gautham Reddy added.
