Boy A, the teen convicted of the aggravated sexual assault and murder of schoolgirl Ana Kriegel last year, has been sentenced to life in prison with a review period after 12 years.
His co-accused, known as Boy B, has been sentenced to 15 years' jail with a review after eight years for killing the 14-year-old from Leixlip.
The two teens are the youngest people in the history of the State to be convicted of murder.
Both boys were 13-years-old when they murdered Ana at a disused farmhouse in Lucan on May 14th, 2018.
They were convicted by unanimous jury verdicts in June following a seven-week trial.
The terms have been backdated to start from the date of conviction.
Judge Paul McDermott handed down the sentences in Dublin's Central Criminal Court this afternoon.
Both boys are 15 now but because they're still children in the eyes of the law, their identities have been and will always remain protected.
In June, a jury found that Boy A assaulted the schoolgirl, and that Boy B lured her to the house knowing what was going to happen, watched the attack and lied afterwards.
An overwhelming amount of forensic evidence against his co-accused led to him being charged and ultimately convicted.
