An update on the status of Tennessee football coach Jeremy Pruitt

Jeremy Pruitt, the former Georgia football defensive coordinator and third-year head coach of the Tennessee Volunteers, has been in the headlines over the past couple weeks.

No, the longtime assistant isn’t receiving another lengthy extension or being praised for finishing off what looked to be a promising 2021 recruiting class.

Instead, Pruitt and his staff are getting lit up by both fans and the media on Rocky Top for a disastrous finish to the season.

The Volunteers were thought to be turning the corner after an impressive 7-game win streak that carried over into the 2020.

However, everything began to disassemble after the loss to Georgia in Athens.

Now, Pruitt faces the possibility of being replaced following Saturday’s blowout loss to Texas A&M in Neyland Stadium, although a press release that just came out seems to indicate otherwise.

In discussing the Volunteers’ status for the Autozone Liberty Bowl, athletic director Phillip Fulmer said the following:
