Christmas is just 11 days down the line, so if you’re still planning on surprising friends or family with a Christmas gift on time, the final dates are fast approaching.
The deadline for those wishing to send parcels over the Christmas period is this Friday, while the date for letters and express post has come and gone.
With just two days until the cut-off for on-time US deliveries, the only option remaining is the International Courier Service.
As for the rest of Europe, December 20 remains the final date for the same service, which is priced depending on the weight of your parcel.
Costs range from €15 to €42.50 for Australia and New Zealand, and from €15 to €32.50 for US-bound parcels.
Customers are also warned that there will be no mail collection on December 24 and no mail delivery or collection on December 28.
Meanwhile, following the disruption of Storm Barra last week, which saw Post offices close in areas worst affected by the extreme conditions, some delays are being worked through.
It was estimated that customers could notice delays for a number of days as service resumed last week in Cork and Kerry.
Their statement read: “The impact of the severe weather conditions on letter and parcel services may take some days to clear given the cancellation of ferry traffic and road freight disruptions.”
