
>>A project to help young Thais and Asean nationals explore different opportunities available at some of the leading US institutions in their pursuit of becoming the future golf and tennis stars and achieve academic goals has been announced.
The US College Camp Thailand 2017 project will be divided into two groups with those interested in golf undertaking a trip to the US from Jan 24-Feb 3, with the tennis group travelling from Jan 28-Feb 8.
Project director Wassana Chaipromprasit said: "Those who are interested in golf will have the chance to watch and participate in the FCG Callaway World Championship at St Mark Golf Club San Marcos in California.
"The tennis group will have the opportunity to watch and participate in the USTA Bass River 16 L6 Challenger in Massachusetts.
"The trips will also include training with university coaches and talks aimed at exploring opportunities for future studies at US academic institutions."
She added: "Besides these activities, all participants will have the special opportunity to visit six US universities --University of Pennsylvania, Princeton University, Columbia University, Yale University, Brown University and Harvard University."
"The project is open to both Thai nationals and residents of Asean countries. General public without significant golf or tennis experience can apply as well."

The application fee is US$12,000 (420,000 baht) each, which includes air tickets, travel expenses, hotel accommodations, food and fees for participating in all activities and events in the United States.
