An online Dublin station dedicated solely to rock music set to go live this summer and they're looking to hire

Music fans take note as a Dublin-based online radio station playing purely rock music is set to go live.

The Rock, which was launched last summer, has received strong on-air support from some of the biggest names in the music industry including Justin Hawkins from The Darkness, Thin Lizzy/Black Star Riders’ Scott Gorham, Richie Malone from Status Quo, Chris Slade from AC/DC and Joe Elliott from Def Leppard.

Now the automated station is going totally live this summer due to its remarkable popularity.

And if you're hoping to break into the rock scene, they're currently looking to hire people for on-air positions.

So if you think you have what it takes, send your CV and on-air checks to info@therockdublin.com.

Managing Director Lloyd Barber said: “Initially we didn’t want announcers talking over the songs which drives me crazy.

“But given how powerful and emotional the rock genre is, it’s a crime not to have a human element attached plus we can now truly engage our listeners and the community, deliver more amazing interviews with both local and international bands and add strong on-air support for our clients.

“Like we are assisting Irish bands build fan bases, we are hoping to launch the careers of new, fresh talent to the air waves.... (as long as they don’t talk over the tracks).

“Since launching, the feedback and support from the public and the music industry has been overwhelming.

“So much so we have had to fast track our new merchandise lines. You know when international rock stars decide to wear your merch on stage that you’re doing something right!

“With our on-air team in place, our new promotional team ready to take to the streets and the amazing live shows we’ve got planned, this is going to be a one red hot summer for The Rock fans!”
