Do you ever feel overwhelmed by the amount of reading you have to do? Ever struggle to concentrate and pick out important points? One highly effective solution is speed reading – a technique that’s not just about reading fast, but about making the whole reading process more efficient.

During this fun evening course, our expert tutor Jane Smith will help you to harness the huge reserve capacity of your mind, and use speed reading techniques to achieve personal, business or academic goals. Over the course of the evening, you’ll discover how to improve your comprehension and memory, enabling you to deal more effectively with today’s tidal wave of information.

  • Tips on how to maximise your comprehension
  • Expert advice on how to improve your memory and retention of key points
  • How to select an appropriate reading approach for your reading purpose
  • Exercises for improving your vision and avoiding eyestrain when reading
  • Q&A and practical exercises

What to bring

  • You should bring your own non-fiction reading material to the class in order to take part in practical exercises
  • Your book should be 200-300 pages long, published within in the last 10 years – please do not bring a novel. If you prefer, you can bring along non-fiction material to read on your tablet or laptop

Tutor profile

Jane Smith has a background in adult education and is an experienced trainer, specialising in speed reading and other personal skills. She’s also the author of several popular business books for publishers including Hodder, Headline and Pearsons. Jane writes articles and features for a variety of publications, and is the author of a range of personal development audio books including Speed Reading for Success and Memory and Learning for Success.
