Social media is now the biggest source of internet traffic worldwide – it has already transformed the way we communicate, and has huge potential to change opinions, minds, and even behaviours. But with so many voices vying for attention online, it’s easy to get lost in the chatter.

Designed for absolute beginners through to curious novices, this intensive full day masterclass covers everything you need to know about the social media platforms and how to use them.

This course is for you if…

  • You’re a beginner keen to understand how to use social media platforms like Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Instagram and Pinterest

Course description

This one day course will cover all the basics of social media with practical exercises throughout the day.

Topics covered on the day include:

  • Twitter, Facebook, YouTube, Pinterest and Instagram explained
  • Dos: status updates, how to start a ‘conversation,’ timing
  • Don’ts: complaining, trolling, defamation
  • Where do you find an audience? The etiquette of how to connect with people using social media
  • Practical application. How to write your first tweet, upload a meme, use Facebook scheduling. Basic application of what we’ve covered during the day.

PLEASE NOTE: A basic understanding of Twitter and Facebook and personal use of these platforms is helpful but this course is welcome to all levels of competency. Please feel free to bring your laptop, iPad or tablet to use during the class.
