After spending decades in the Seattle area, Jeff Bezos sold his Hunts Point mansion on Lake Washington for $63 million — the highest sale on record — and moved east with his new wife, Lauren Sánchez Bezos. The newlyweds settled on Miami’s Biscayne Bay, where they purchased a $237 million waterfront compound on the ultra-exclusive Indian Creek Island, dubbed “Billionaire Bunker.” Their high-profile neighbors include Ivanka Trump and Jared Kushner, NFL legend Tom Brady and supermodel Gisele Bündchen.
On the elite 300-acre island, which spans 0.4 square miles, Bezos bought three adjoining properties — the most recent a $90 million estate in 2024 — that will serve as a temporary residence, according to Fortune. Construction began in November 2025.
For the exterior, the grounds feature a canopy of local and exotic trees and dense foliage that mimics an Amazon rainforest, as seen in photos in the Daily Mail. Bezos hired a tree surgeon to oversee the transport of imported Japanese yews, Brazilian Beauty Leafs, and Gumbo Limbos to ensure they arrived intact, according to The List.
The well-manicured, pristine lawn is punctuated by statues that resemble the work of the Colombian artist and sculptor Fernando Botero. The couple’s exclusive outdoor amenities include a swimming pool, fire pit, sauna, hot tub, cabana-style office, and a regulation-sized pickleball court.
Details of the interior renovations are scarce for the 12,000-square-foot home. However, based on the preferences of Bezos’ other mansions, we can surmise the teardown would likely include six bedrooms, nine bathrooms, custom furnishings, imported flooring, and luxurious elements, finishes and fixtures. What we know is that the Bezos’s transformed their garage into a home gym protected by a heavy-duty garage door that cost $103,000, according to The List.
As one would expect, Bezos spared no expense on the luxury renovations to suit the couple’s high-end lifestyle and unique tastes. You can copy their lavish tastes for your home, too. Here’s how to create a similar aesthetic on a modest budget.
Tropical Landscaping
For those who want to create a tropical-inspired canopy vibe without having to import trees from Asia or hire a tree surgeon, head to nurseries for palms and exotic trees you can plant yourself, such as the Coconut Palms, Queen Palms and the Sylvestor Palm, which retails for around $130. Make sure to check the requirements for growing non-native plants in your region before buying them online.

Statues
Outdoor statues come in a range of materials and styles, from resin and stone to brass and marble. To create a tropical vibe, you can find sculptures online, such as this Garden Parrot Statue at Etsy for $132 or this large pelican statue for $209. You can even grab authentic pre-owned Botero brass statues cheaply on eBay, starting at $30, surprisingly.
Fire Pits
Outdoor fire pits come in a variety of shapes, sizes, materials, and price points. A good place to start is Home Depot, which offers a wide range of larger fire pits and fire bowls.
Pickle Ball
You don’t have to drive to your nearest pickleball center to play the game. There are cheap portable pickleball courts and DIY kits under $100 you can set up in your driveway or yard sold on Amazon and other stores, often under $100. You can find pickleball court tiles that double as a basketball court for around $6,175 at Modutile.
Canopies
For a relaxing outdoor canopy, head to Wayfair. Whether you’re looking for a canopy to lounge by the pool, an entertaining space for alfresco dining, or a shaded area with overhead protection to work outdoors, options start at around $90.
