HYDERABAD: With the festival season of Dasara, Deepavali, Guru Nanak Jayanti, Christmas, New Year and Sankranti round the corner, Hyderabad postal region has launched a four-month long special drive ‘Dak parcel mahotsav’ up to January 15, 2022.
This would enable people to send gift packages and parcels to their near and dear ones living within the country and abroad.
This special drive will facilitate quicker booking and delivery of parcels in time. A dedicated parcel counter has been set up at every head post office to accept parcels from customers, assistant director, Hyderabad region, J Srinivas said.
The postal department is also planning to extend the counters’ working hours based on the demand. Parcel pick-up from customers’ doorstep will be arranged based on online requests received on ‘Post Info’ app or by requests through beat postman. The packing is made available in five HPOs at Hanamkonda, Karimnagar, Khammam, Nizamabad and Warangal.
Postal officials advised the customers to provide their mobile number on the parcel to get an SMS alert after delivery. Customers can track their parcels online. Pre-delivery alerts of parcels will be sent to the customer’s mobile number through an SMS.
