Well, we know wedding ensembles are a great deal in India, but we didn't know that a cheap wedding outfit could lead to the cancellation of a wedding! An Indian bride is hitting headlines for cancelling her wedding for an unusual reason - because the groom's side sent her a 'cheap' lehenga.
A bride from Haldwani, the largest city of Kumaon region in Uttarakhand, India is making news for cancelling her wedding since she didn't find the lehenga to be upto the mark.
According to reports, a boy and girl got engaged in the month of June and were all set to get married on the 5th of November. The wedding preparation was in full swing, even the cards had been printed and distributed, but an altercation over the lehenga led to cancellation of the wedding.
As per a report, just a few days before the wedding, the bride found out that her lehenga was rather 'cheap' and only cost INR 10,000. Things got worse when the groom's family refused to accept that the lehenga was cheap and insisted that it was expensive and bought from Lucknow for a hefty price. The bride couldn't be convinced despite the groom's father offering to buy her another lehenga, as per her choice.
Local media reports suggest that the tensions between the bride and groom's family escalated to an extent that the cops had to intervene. And, despite all efforts by the cops to ease the tense situation, the two sides refused to reconcile and the wedding was finally called-off.
Well, we hope the duo could reach a conciliation, tell us what do you think for this news in the comment section below.
