An hour-by-hour North East forecast for Sunday and bank holiday Monday according to the Met Office

People across the North East will be making the most of the summer bank holiday weekend.

Monday will be the last bank holiday before the arrival of Autumn and then Christmas. Many families will want to get outside and enjoy the final weeks of summer.

But what will the weather be like? According to the Met Office, the sunshine is set to shine on Sunday but will be replaced by cloudy skies by Monday.

Forecasters predict that Sunday will be another fine and dry day with light winds. It will will feel pleasantly warm and the temperature could reach a maximum of 22 °C.

The sky will become increasingly covered by high level cloud in the evening, masking the sun. The odd afternoon shower is also likely.

Bank holiday Monday is expected to be a dry day. It will be rather cloudy, with sunny spells tentatively developing.
