Dear inklers,
I'm writing to share that we have launched a very exciting new service today. It is (imaginatively) called inklPay and it lets you (i.e., inkl users) unlock stories on other websites using your inkl account.
As you know, our goal is to bring you the most important news stories from the world's best sources. And our business model (i.e., inkl Premium) ensures that higher-quality reporting generates greater revenue for publishers - a market-based solution to the fake news plague affecting social media and search engines.
However, there are far more independent journalists and news brands than we could ever feature for you in inkl itself. And most of them face the same challenge in making ends meet through their important work. So now these writers and brands can install inkl's payment plugin into their own website and let you and readers like you benefit from and support their work directly.
We're hoping to one day see inklPay implemented across a large swath of the internet, but for now I'd like to profile one such writer here in Australia - our first partner to go live.
Claire Connelly is an award winning freelance journalist who writes for publications including The Saturday Paper, The AFR, ABC, Crikey, New Matilda, VICE and others. In her new column, Hello Humans, Claire offers a closer look at whether reduced government spending is truly a desirable objective for society. It's a thoughtful piece that references economic data and commentary from economists to offer a rebuttal to the traditional view. You can read it here.
I hope you are as excited as we are about the prospect of one day being able to use your inkl account to unlock content everywhere, and not just on inkl. Let us know what you think by emailing hello@inkl.com.
And if you're a writer or publisher who uses Wordpress and would like to use inklPay, please email inklpay@inkl.com and we'll also include 8 hours of free development support to get you up and running ASAP.
Here's to the next chapter in our (and your) journey.
Thank you for being here.
Warm regards,
Gautam
