A village made up of 54 homes and a former canteen which could be converted into a shop has been put up for sale.
The properties were all built in the 1930s and 1950s to house military personnel and are now mostly home to working families.
But the whole estate, including a 4,392sq ft former NAAFI canteen, is now for sale in the village of Brookenby, in the rolling hills of the Lincolnshire Wolds.
The successful buyer could rake in £239,000 a year in rent from 50 of the former RAF married quarters homes - and the four others could be put up for rent once refurbished, reports LincolnshireLive.
The two and three-bed homes once provided accommodation for families at Lightning jet fighter base RAF Binbrook.
According to Brookenby Parish Council: "Until the late 1980s, Brookenby did not exist. The site was the living accommodation for married families stationed at RAF Binbrook.
"When the station was closed down, and after the last Lightning left, the land was sold to a local developer who then sold the houses on the open market.
"With the village of Binbrook just one mile away, a new name had to be produced and the old name 'Brookenby', reputedly the name of a former 'plague village', was reactivated.
"Since then, the village, while having its fair share of teething troubles, has slowly risen, phoenix-like, from the ashes of the former service married quarters."
The parish council website adds that the homes were built to a very high standard, some as early as 1938/39 and others as late as the mid 1950s.
