An artistic way to help celebrate Valentine's Day in Dumfries and Galloway

An appeal for windows full of kind hearts has been made ahead of St Valentine’s Day by the Standard and Morrisons.

The challenge for families and individuals in the region is to show their art on their window panes – with the chance of winning one of three gift vouchers.

To get involved, you need to send us pictures of yourselves with your decorated windows to our Facebook page or email to: sharon.liptrott@reachplc.com by Tuesday, February 16.

Morrisons’ community champion in Dumfries, Myra Smith, said: “We all remember the amazing rainbows on people’s windows and then the VE anniversary decorated windows which brought a smile to everyone’s faces when they saw them on daily walks.

“So with St Valentine’s Day here on Sunday, we want everyone to make the effort and go the extra mile to create hearts for their windows.”

We need jpeg images (of 1mgb or more) and don’t forget to include your name (and those in the picture), address and daytime phone number.

The three winners will be notified and vouchers posted to them. Usual Standard competition rules apply. This competition is for Dumfries and Galloway residents only.
