An apartment on the famous Tenby Harbour beach has gone on sale

The perfect picture of pastel properties hugging the rugged cliff tops of Tenby, with the beach, harbour and St Catherine's Island framing the composition, is a scene that is instantly recognisable to many people.

It's a scene used by tourism companies to attract visits to the area and Wales, and a scene that attracts countless numbers of professional and amateur photographers to snap their own version.

And always, standing proudly in the foreground of this dream scene, is a blue building on the harbour beach, next to the historic St Julian's church.

The substantial three-storey building literally on the beach is arguably the most dominant property in that idyllic seaside picture.

If a property by the beach with uninterrupted sea views is your ultimate coastal dream, how about having this golden sandy shore in Tenby as your front garden?

The two-bed apartment within this property is literally located on Tenby Harbour beach - you really couldn't get any closer.

The overwhelming benefit of this location, apart from being able to walk from the sea to your shower in seconds is, of course, the stunning sea views from every front window of this dream home.

This sale gives a potential buyer the very rare opportunity to purchase a piece of Tenby history, in a landmark building, in a unique location.

The history attached to the building is almost as impressive and unique as the beachside location and sparkling sea views.

According to the website British Listed Buildings, the property is known as Fishermen's Rooms and was built in 1874 by W Newton-Dunn of Tenby.

The accounts suggest that subscriptions were raised in 1872 for reading rooms but that the majority of the funds were from the mysterious benefactor Miss Forde, who was also the principal funder for the construction of the adjacent St Julian's Church in 1878.

The original design of The Fishermen's Rooms comprised four public rooms. Records suggest that each room had a dedicated function.

One room was for fishermen, one for youths, a classroom and library, and an evening room for fisher boys and pupils of the Quay Street School.

The build cost was reported as being £800, with extra later additions costing an estimated £310.

The building became Grade II listed in 1961 due to it being a 'prominent building in the harbour and of social historical interest'.

The building was converted into four flats called Top Deck, Quarter Deck, Down Below, and this apartment now for sale which is called Seamen's Rooms.

Even the walk to the property is magical, along a footpath on the beach wall, through a gate that opens onto characterful stone steps

The apartment comes with the cutest of outside deck areas within an inner area by the front door, covered but with an open archway that perfectly frames the unique views, come rain or shine.

Imagine sitting here watching the world go by on the beach, the boats bobbing about in the harbour and the hustle and bustle of the summer tourists exploring this popular and pretty Pembrokeshire coastal town - all without getting your feet wet or your toes sandy.

But if a daily beach stroll is just too tempting, the sand is literally your front lawn, step out and onto it in a few seconds.

The property is in the perfect position not only to access the beach but to enjoy views over Castle Beach, the harbour and Tenby's North Beach with the town on the skyline, from its spacious open-plan kitchen diner and lounge.

The two bedrooms can be found at the end of the property, with bedroom one occupying the section the L-shaped wing of the historic building.

A shower room can be found ideally situated between the two double bedrooms.

The interior design inside the property is contemporary and sleek, with white walls, warm wood flooring, glossy handleless units in the kitchen topped by wood-style worksurfaces.

Accents of shades of blue via artwork and accessories to remind a visitor of the flat's superb seaside position, although just a glance out of the windows will easily do that too.

According to the estate agent selling the apartment, the sale includes a share of the ownership of the integral boathouse.

This is definitely an extra bonus feature, ideal for storing all the outdoor activity equipment a new owner will surely be buying or bringing with them as they fully make the most of this stunning property's stunning location.
