An Ammanford man has been hitting objects with his umbrella and swearing at people for months

A 37-year-old 'repeat offender' has been handed a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) as a result of his anti-social behaviour around the town in recent months.

Andre Dobson from Ammanford was given the order following a string of anti-social behaviour incidents which included him hitting out at objects with an umbrella and shouting at locals.

Mr Dobson also pleaded guilty to a charge of racially aggravated public order and possession of cannabis after appearing in Llanelli Magistrates Court on July, 22.

What is a criminal behaviour order?

Ammanford Neighbourhood Policing Team made an application for a CBO after a number of residents witnessed his anti-social behaviour.

The CBO that runs for two years says that the 37-year-old must not act in a manner that causes harassment, alarm or distress to any member of the general public including shouting and swearing or threatening violence to members of the public.

A breach of any of these conditions can result in a fine, imprisonment or in some cases both.

PCSO Rhian James said: "These incidents have had a significant impact on the lives of the local residents. We will continue to clamp down hard on those who behave in an anti-social manner. We hope that this Criminal Behaviour Order reassures those in the community, who have witnessed Dobson’s behaviour, that action will be taken to address their concerns.”

PC Steve Morris said: “Since the new restructure of the Neighbourhood Policing Team it allows officers to proactively work towards solving problems in the community. Criminal Behaviour Orders are not new, but certainly a new response from us in the NPT.”
