Join three of Disney Animation Studio’s leading talents for a special preview screening of Big Hero 6, and find out more about how Disney’s latest masterpiece was created. Inspired by the Marvel comic of the same name, Big Hero 6 is the first movie to fuse the superhero genre with Disney’s famous family film formula, and has already won plaudits for its unique style and original script – not to mention ‘huggable robot’ Baymax himself.
As well as being treated to an exclusive preview showing of Big Hero 6, prior to its release, this is your chance to learn from the undisputed masters of animated features. Co-directors Don Hall (Winnie the Pooh), Chris Williams (Bolt) and producer Roy Conli (Tangled) each present the most important lessons of their careers, as well as a panel Q&A offering an opportunity to pick the brains of a creative team going through a vintage run of successes, including Tangled, Wreck-It Ralph, and Frozen.
You’ll learn how the Disney team researched and developed the film’s unique setting of San Fransokyo, fusing elements of the east and west to create a rich, detailed and fun new environment. You’ll also find out about the development of Disney’s powerful Denizen software, which enabled them to populate the city with an unprecedented variety of independent citizens (and tourists!), and discover how their ground-breaking, light-rendering program Hyperion was used to give the film its distinctive visual style. It’s a unique afternoon which is a must for film buffs and animaniacs alike.
