An additional 4000 Pfizer vaccines delivered from next week

An additional 4000 doses of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccine will be on offer at the Garran Surge Centre from Monday.

The vaccination hub is currently administering 7000 vaccinations a week, that will increase to 11,000 vaccinations from next week.

Close to one million doses of the Pfizer vaccine landed in Australia overnight on Sunday as part of the nation's vaccine ramp-up.

The ACT's Pfizer hub at the Canberra Airport precinct is preparing to more than double its number of injections from next week.

A spokeswoman said ACT Health would be contacting Canberrans who have already booked in to advise them that earlier spots may now be available.

"Anyone who has a MyDHR account can log in at any time to change their existing appointment to another available time slot," the spokeswoman said.

The federal government has been misreporting Canberra's vaccination rate after adding NSW residents from surrounding regions to the ACT's figures.

More than 40 per cent of eligible Canberrans have had their first dose, but Commonwealth figures say more than 50 per cent have.

The ACT government is working on the assumption there are 344,000 ACT residents over 16 eligible for vaccination.

Residents aged 30 to 39 can now express interest in getting the vaccine, in anticipation of eligibility expanding as more Pfizer supply arrives.

The ACT government has asked the federal government to adjust its numbers to give a true reflection of how many Canberrans have been vaccinated.
