There’s a manhunt underway for a suspect who rammed his car into an FBI field office in Pittsburgh in what the agency is calling “an act of terror against the FBI.” The suspect, identified as Donald Henson of Penn Hills, Pennsylvania, allegedly drove at high speed toward the main entrance gate at around 2:40 AM. Christopher Giordano, the FBI special agent in charge of the investigation, stated that Henson is a former military man with a history of mental health issues, per The Guardian.
The suspect’s actions were bizarre and alarming. After crashing his car into the gate, the driver reportedly got out, threw an American flag over the fence, and started shouting incoherently. The car itself had “some vulgarity” scrawled on the side of it. The FBI has been able to identify Henson as the registered owner of the vehicle and has matched his driver’s license photo to further confirm his identity.
Giordano said that the FBI is treating the incident as “a targeted attack on this building.” He added, “Thankfully no one was hurt, but we are going to exhaust every ability we have under the federal law to find, apprehend and prosecute this subject to the fullest extent.” Authorities believe that Henson may be dangerous, though it’s not clear if he is armed. He fled the scene after the crash, and the FBI is actively searching for him.

It turns out this isn’t the first time the suspect has been to the FBI office. According to Giordano, Henson had recently visited the Pittsburgh office to make a complaint that “didn’t make a whole lot of sense.” The FBI contacted him afterward to let him know there was no federal crime they were able to charge.

This whole situation is pretty wild. The idea that someone would just drive their car into a federal building and then throw an American flag over the fence is something you don’t hear about every day. He’s got a clear grudge against the FBI, but since they have a lot of his information, he is likely going to be caught soon. However, there’s a lack of faith in the department right now, with them having to retract Trump being an informant, and the FBI director losing his mind on a senator during a hearing.
The fact that the FBI is treating it as an act of terror shows how seriously they’re taking this. It’s good to know that nobody was hurt, but the search for Henson is still a top priority. The entire incident feels like something out of a movie, but it’s very much a real and serious situation. Hopefully, they’ll be able to apprehend him soon without any further incident.
