An abrupt end

Roses bloom at Hibiki Nada Ryokuchi Green Park in Kitakyushu, Fukuoka Prefecture, during a spring rose fair. Initially scheduled to run through June 6, the fair will end Tuesday because a state of emergency is to be declared in Fukuoka Prefecture on Wednesday, resulting in the park's closure. "We'll continue to report on the growth of the flowers through our website and other channels," a staffer said. About 2,500 rose bushes comprising 320 varieties are planted in an area measuring about 13,000 square meters.
