Amy Winehouse’s mother Janis has paid tribute to her late daughter on the anniversary of her death.
The Rehab singer was found dead in her home due to alcohol poisoning in Camden, North London on July 23, 2011, at the age of 27.
Her mother took to Twitter to remember her daughter with a simple and heartfelt tribute.
Janis posted a photo of a burning candle next to a pair of Amy’s designer high heels.
She captioned the image: “Love Janis Xxx”.
She then responded to a number of followers who sent her messages of love and support.
“I'll always remember this day too, it was my wedding day, had just finished the first dance when everyone heard the news,” wrote one fan. “much love to you and your family.”
Janis replied: “Happy anniversary ( I hope) and thank you for your kind thoughts, love Janis xxx”
Another fan wrote: “Lots of love to you and your family. I was there for the unveiling of the Amy statue in Camden and I could see you all behind the glare of the media and the pain you all felt. Then the brave faces you portrayed when it was time ... it really choked me up xxx”
Janis responded: “That’s so kind of you, thank you, love Janis xxx.”
In March, Amy Winehouse was honoured with a star on the new Music Walk of Fame in Camden.
Her parents were both in attendance at the unveiling, with father Mitch saying: “Camden was her oxygen and now she is here always spiritually.
“She’s not here physically but this plaque will mean that everyone who walks through Camden will look down and they will see the beloved Amy Winehouse.
“For us it is a reminder that she is no longer with us and yet remembered by millions of people. It is a wonderful thing.”
Winehouse won five Grammys throughout her career, with her albums Frank and Back to Black going platinum.
Her father and stepmother established the Amy Winehouse Foundation in 2011 and it has since reached more than 500,000 young people through drug prevention and support projects.
