Amy Winehouse's 'emotional' family selling her wardrobe - including last gig dress

A jazzy collection from Amy Winehouse’s wardrobe is up for sale – including a red heart-shaped bag which wowed fans at the BRIT Awards.

The leather purse was a dazzling contrast to her yellow frock at the 2007 bash and is tipped to fetch £14,000.

Auctioneers expect a similar sum for the dress Amy wore at her last gig in Belgrade, Serbia – a foliage-themed number designed by Naomi Parry.

It was in June 2011 – a month before the Back To Black star died in Camden, North London, from alcohol poisoning.

A treasure trove of memorabilia is being sold by family and proceeds go to the Amy Winehouse Foundation for disadvantaged young people, run by Amy’s dad Mitch and mum Janis.

Mitch, 70, said: “Amy’s belongings were in a giant lock-up and the family decided that while we would keep the most precious, personal items for ourselves, auctioning others would help those in need via the foundation and other charities.

"With the anniversary of her death coming up, every time the family go to the lock-up, it’s overwhelmingly emotional seeing her lovely dresses hanging on the rails, so we decided to auction these show outfits.

“It seems a fitting way to raise funds in her name.”

Beverly Hills-based Julien’s Auctions will sell the gear in November – after many have been exhibited in a world tour.

A black and orange Tina Kalivas skirt Amy wore to accept five Grammys in 2008, including best song for Rehab, is valued at £3,500.

Other treasures include lace bras, sketches, three pairs of pink ballet slippers and two bustiers.

A ruched netted dress worn in US music mag Blender could go for £5,000 and a shell purse for £800.

The BBC will mark 10 years since Amy’s death with a documentary offering a “new female-driven interpretation of her life, her loves and her legacy”.
