- Amy Winehouse's father, Mitch Winehouse, lost a High Court claim against two of his daughter's friends, Naomi Parry and Catriona Gourlay, over the auctioning of her personal items.
- Mr Winehouse, acting as the administrator of his daughter's estate, had accused Ms Parry and Ms Gourlay of 'deliberately concealing' the sale of dozens of items at auctions in the United States in 2021 and 2023.
- Deputy High Court judge Sarah Clarke KC ruled that neither Ms Parry nor Ms Gourlay deliberately concealed the items, and Mr Winehouse could have discovered them with reasonable diligence.
- The judge also found Mr Winehouse to be an 'unreliable witness' who 'likes to dominate people and situations', noting his sensitivity about Amy's memory and ensuring the family's financial benefit.
- Following the judgment, Ms Parry stated that the High Court had 'unequivocally and in full' cleared her name, asserting that the claim should never have been brought.
