Amy Schumer told told lose weight for Trainwreck because 'weighing over 140lbs in film will hurt people's eyes'

Amy Schumer has made a career out of refusing to compromise and ridiculing the standards projected onto women in Hollywood.

But the comedian has admitted to being asked to lose weight for her film Trainwreck after being told a woman weighing over 140lbs in film “will hurt people’s eyes”.

She told British talk show host Jonathan Ross: “The only change was that it was explained to me before I did that movie [Trainwreck] that if you weigh over 140 pounds as a woman in Hollywood, if you're on the screen it will hurt people's eyes.

“I didn't know that so I lost some weight to do that but never again.”

Schumer’s adept handling of sexism was recently demonstrated when she ejected a heckler from a concert for being both unoriginal and sexist in shouting “get your tits out”.
