Amy Schumer, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Jennifer Lawrence had a fun night out on the town in the Big Apple following a Broadway show.

On Friday, Schumer shared a picture on Instagram of herself with Waller-Bridge, Lawrence and Talking Heads musician David Byrne.

Several of the comedian’s Instagram followers immediately expressed their excitement over Schumer’s friendships with the Fleabag star and the Oscar-winning actor, with one person asking whether the trio are filming a project together.

“Nope. Just drinking mama,” Schumer responded.

As it turned out, the famous coterie were enjoying one another’s company after watching a performance of American Utopia, a theatrical concert by Byrne.

After watching the show at Broadway’s Hudson Theatre, the group went to Jimmy’s Corner, a boxing-themed dive bar situated a two-minute walk from Times Square.

They were also joined by celebrities including comedian Jerry Seinfeld, author Jessica Seinfeld, television host Seth Meyers and Schumer’s husband, chef Chris Fischer.

Schumer captioned her Instagram picture: “I guess that this must be the place”, in reference to the Talking Heads song “This Must Be The Place”.

A video shared on Ms Seinfeld’s Instagram account showed Schumer and Waller-Bridge meeting members of the American Utopia cast.

“@amyschumer took some lucky ones to see brilliant David Byrne’s @americanutopia last night (and we got to meet the phenomenal cast of musicians),” the video’s caption read.

“We then across the street to Jimmy’s Corner, which is a real not to be missed NYC bar experience”.

Last month, Schumer spoke out about feeling anxious returning to work following the birth of her son earlier this year.

The comedian wrote on Instagram that while it “felt good to be back at work” following maternity leave, on a few occasions she has “cried from missing him”.

“But it’s mostly good to be back and the breaks energise me to be a better mum and appreciate our time more,” she said.
