Amy Schumer shares her mobile number online for abuse victims to contact her

Amy Schumer has welcomed female comedians to contact her directly if they are struggling to cope with misogynistic treatment at the hands of male comedians.

The 39-year-old American star took to social media on Saturday to share her personal phone number and invite women to call her if they needed to talk.

Her post comes after American comedians Joey Diaz and Joe Rogan were slammed for seemingly boasting about coercing women into performing oral sex.

Fury was sparked when footage from 2011 resurfaced to show 52-year-old Joe laughing as 57-year-old Joey bragged about pressuring 20 women into performing oral sex on him.

Taking to Twitter and Instagram Amy wrote: “Hey. Crazy time right? Lot goin on. I just wanted to take a second to say how brave the women coming forward are about the mistreatment they have experience at the hands of comedians or in any other profession.

“Especially the ones who weren’t of legal age to consent.

“There are great men out there. And there are men who humiliate and abuse women and girls because of a power dynamic or because when they were that age girls wouldn’t take to them.

“Whatever your reasoning is, or was. We are watching you and we are all together now and we won’t accept this behaviour whether you break the law or not.”

She continued: “I’m here to talk if anyone needs any support. Reach out and I’ll try to help as best I can.

“My number is posted on my bio. In solidarity, Amy.”

Amy’s post was immediately welcomed by fans and followers, with one tweeting back: “Amy you are awesome! I love how you support us.”

The video footage of Joey Diaz and Joe Rogan had been shared earlier in the week as an example of harassment some female comedians say they have experienced in the Los Angeles comedy circuit.

While earlier in the week, comedian and actor Chris D'Elia was accused of sexual misconduct with underage girls.
