While many celebrities used National Bikini Day as an excuse to share a flattering throwback snap, Amy Schumer went down a different route with her choice of picture.
Taking to her Instagram account on Friday, the mum-of-one posted an image from the birth of her first child two years ago.
The Trainwreck actress, who welcomed son Gene into the world back in May 2019 via a Caesarean section, shared a never-been-seen before snap with her 10.6 million followers as an alternative way to mark #nationalbikiniday
The 40-year-old comedian can be seen on the operating table during her son's birth as a doctor lifts the newborn baby over the partition so she can meet her first child.

"#nationalbikiniday," the star captioned the post, as a reference to the scar left behind from the surgery, typically just above the bikini area.
The star has spoke candidly in the past about the gruelling c-section she was forced to undergo which lasted over three hours due to complications caused by scar tissue from the condition Endometriosis.
She had planned to have a doula-assisted vaginal delivery, but after suffering from hyperemesis gravidarum (HG) which caused severe nausea and vomiting throughout her pregnancy, she decided to opt for a hospital C-section at 39 weeks.

Fans and friends were quick to applaud Amy of her quip, leaving many comments underneath her latest social media update.
"Gene-ius," one remarked, playing on the star's child's name, while another simply wrote: "Queen."
Uzo Aduba exclaimed "I actually can’t with you, Schumer" alongside a laughing-face emoji and model Emily Ratajkowski showed her approval on the picture, leaving a string of love-heart emojis as a comment.
Gene is the first child for the American stand-up comedian, who announced she was pregnant with her son in October 2018.
The star shares his first-born with husband Chris Fischer.
Amy married the chef and farmer just months before announcing her pregnancy, in a Malibu ceremony on February 13 2018.

Gene David Fischer arrived shortly after on May 5 2019 and very almost had a very unfortunate name.
The funny star had planned to give her child the middle name Attell, in honour of fellow comedian Dave Attell, but changed her mind once it occured to her that "Gene Attell sounded like genital."
“We realised that we by accident named our son ‘genital,’” she revealed said on her podcast “3 Girls, 1 Keith.”

Australian actress Claudia O’Doherty, who appeared in Schumer’s 2015 rom-com “Trainwreck,” joked that she wasn't surprised by her co-star's mishap.
“My mum pointed that out to me, ‘Amy’s called her son ‘Genital,’ and she was right!” the 38-year-old quipped.
Gene's new middle name is a tribute to both 55-year-old comedian but also Amy's father, Gordon David Schumer.
“So, two stones,” she explained.
