Amy Macdonald apologised to neighbours after performing 6am show in back garden

Singer Amy Macdonald had to apologise to her neighbours after performing an early morning show in her back garden.

The Bishopbriggs -born star feared she had woken up people living nearby when she started belting out songs at 6am.

Amy was playing a set live on Zoe Ball’s Radio 2 breakfast show on Friday from her home in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire.

After her performance, she said: “The BBC Radio2 breakfast show was broadcasting from my back garden and I forgot to tell my neighbours.

“I did a sound check at 6am. I’m really sorry neighbours.”

The 33-year-old appeared on the show with her footballer husband Richard Foster, who plays for Partick Thistle, and performed the song Statues from her latest album.

She was taking part in Radio 2’s Big Bee Challenge – a project to raise awareness and encourage listeners to help create a better environment to support bees.

Across June to August, the station is featuring tours of well-known face’s gardens and outdoor spaces to find out how bee-friendly they are.

They are then offered tips on what they can do to make them a haven for the insects.

Amy admitted she was not “green-fingered” and said her garden was overgrown as she couldn’t get her gardener to come in time.

The This is the Life singer is no stranger to complaints about noise – only last time, it was her doing the moaning.

Amy was out running some errands in Glasgow last month when she decided to get the train home but the journey was made unpleasant by teenage passengers playing music.

The 33-year-old then took to her Instagram to offer a colourful rant about their choice of tunes.

She said: “So I’ve been out and about all day and I just got the train home and how f****** annoying are teenage girls on the trains, did I used to be like that?

“No, because we didn’t used to use phones.

“Like, I don’t want to listen to your s*** music.

“I also don’t want to watch you make TikTok videos while you’re sat across from me. F****** d***s.”
