Amy Klobuchar zings president: Unlike Trump, 'Greenland is not for sale'

President Donald Trump sparked a flood of ridicule _ and plenty of witty internet memes _ with his half-baked idea to buy Greenland.

Sen. Amy Klobuchar might have had the best zinger, mocking the president for his quixotic plan and his propensity for self-promotion and self-dealing.

"The difference between Donald Trump and Greenland? Greenland is not for sale," Klobuchar tweeted.

Denmark rejected the interest out of hand for the giant island that it controls as an overseas territory, with the former prime minister questioning if it was a joke.

The New York Daily News won widespread attention with its Saturday cover "Fjord to Trump: Drop Dead," a play on its famed 1975 front page that trashed President Gerald Ford for rejecting a bailout of the Big Apple.
