Amy Forsyth And Christian Cooke Join Cast Of 'Plainclothes'

Amy Forsyth and Christian Cooke join cast of "Plainclothes."

Amy Forsyth and Christian Cooke have been announced as the latest additions to the cast of the upcoming independent film 'Plainclothes,' written and directed by Carmen Emmi. They will be joining Tom Blyth and Russell Tovey, who were previously confirmed to lead the project. Set in the 1990s and based on true events, the film tells the story of a working-class undercover officer assigned to entrap and arrest gay men, only to develop feelings for one of his targets.

The film is being produced by Arthur Landon, Colby Cote, and Eric Podwall on behalf of Page 1 Entertainment and Lorton Entertainment, with Alex Wenger and April Kelley serving as co-producers. Forsyth will take on the role of Emily, the ex-girlfriend and trusted confidant of Lucas (played by Blyth). Emily is described as a flight attendant with a strong sense of adventure, who is both striking and elegantly curious. Despite the end of her relationship with Lucas, she refuses to be a victim and instead takes control of her life, aiming to move beyond her hometown of Syracuse.

Forsyth, known for her Independent Spirit Award-nominated performance in the 2021 film 'The Novice' and her role in the Oscar-winning 'CODA,' currently stars in HBO's 'The Gilded Age.' Cooke, a versatile British actor, will be seen next in the feature film 'Embers,' which he co-wrote, produced, directed, and starred in alongside Ruth Bradley. He also leads the Bron/AMC+ series 'That Dirty Black Bag' and recently completed filming for the HBO Europe limited series 'Rematch,' where he portrays chess champion Garry Kasparov.

Emmi, the writer-director of 'Plainclothes,' has garnered recognition in various industry competitions, including the AMPAS Academy Nicholl fellowship. Forsyth is represented by Gersh, David Dean Management, and AMI Canada, while Cooke is represented by UTA, Entertainment 360, and Hamilton Hodell.
