Amway Coaches Poll released – Where’s Georgia after Tennessee win?

Following Georgia’s 43-14 win over Tennessee in Knoxville, the Bulldogs stayed put at No. 3 in the Amway Coaches Poll, powered by USA TODAY.

Aside from a Florida win over Auburn in Gainesville, there was not too much  excitement in the top-25 this weekend, but there was definitely some movement. Georgia, however, is now the only team in college football that has not moved at all in the rankings since the start of the season.

Here is the updated top-10 following week 6.

1. Alabama

2. Clemson

3. Georgia

4. Ohio State

5. Oklahoma

6. LSU

7. Florida

8. Wisconsin

9. Penn State

10. Notre Dame

Florida’s win over Auburn moved the Gators up one spot to No. 7. Auburn fell five spots from 7 to 12.

Looking ahead at UGA’s schedule, LSU will dictate whether or not Georgia will play two future top-10 games.

Next weekend. No. 7 Florida plays No. 6 LSU in Baton Rouge. A Gator loss, if it’s close, may not push them out of the top-10, but Georgia fans would love to see a strike in Florida’s SEC loss column.

Additionally, Auburn, which now has one loss and sits at No. 12, will also travel to LSU at the end of the month before hosting Georgia a few weeks later. An Auburn loss would put an end to its 2019 dream, making the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry less meaningful for the Tigers.

Here’s some key results from yesterday.

Stanford beat then No. 16 Washington as Jacob Eason struggled to put points on the board.

In the top-five, it was pretty quiet.

Georgia took down Tennessee, Ohio State beat Michigan State and LSU’s defense looked good against Utah State.

Both Clemson and Alabama had bye weeks.
