Amway Coaches Poll released – Where is Georgia after first loss?

Up until this week, Georgia was the only team in the Amway Coaches Poll to maintain the same ranking all season.

The Dawgs had occupied the No. 3 spot in the Amway Coaches Poll, powered by USA TODAY, but Georgia took a big fall in the most recent edition.

In the updated rankings, Georgia is now No. 10, a seven spot drop from No. 3.

It’s not great, but it’s still well within striking distance.

Here is the full top-ten:

1. Alabama

2. Clemson

3. Ohio State

4. LSU

5. Oklahoma

6. Wisconsin

7. Penn State

8. Notre Dame

9. Florida

10. Georgia

So, Georgia still has a game vs the No. 9 team in the country, Florida. A win, and the Dawgs knock the Gators off. LSU and Alabama have to play each other, which will lower one team in the rankings. Ohio State plays Wisconsin and Penn State. Keep in mind, will have Notre Dame over Georgia if both have one loss at the end of the year.

What I’m saying is, there’s still plenty of opportunities for Georgia to work its way up the rankings.

Additionally, the Dawgs have to play the No. 11 team in the country, the Auburn Tigers.

Georgia has to win out if it wants to make the College Football Playoff, but it pretty much already had to do that.

A 12-1 SEC Champion will make the playoff.
