A lot of traffic continues at the top of the Amway Coaches Poll powered by USA TODAY Sports. The top four teams continue to win and look to have separated themselves from the rest of the pack (Penn State is closing).
And for Ohio State, it remained at No. 4 — the spot it has been for a few weeks in a row still despite all the metrics and results on the field suggesting otherwise.
There weren’t any huge upsets like Oklahoma’s last week to shake things up in the top five, so there’s not much movement to report other than Florida dropping from No. 6 to 11 because of its loss to Georgia. The Amway Coaches Poll — even more so than the AP — is synonymous with keeping things at the status quo until teams lose. That, in combination with the top 3 teams being on an off-week means that we’re in the calm before the storm.
The Big Ten one again leads the way with six ranked teams, followed by the SEC with five. The Big 12 has just three with Texas dropping out and Kansas State remaining. Both the ACC and Pac-12 have two teams in the Top 25.
