An unlucky rider at the Port Aventura amusement park in Catalonia, Spain, dropped their iPhone X during a ride on the Shambhala roller coaster – but New Zealander Samuel Kempf saved the day.
While traveling at high speed, Kempf spotted the flying phone and made a spectacular one-handed grab, then celebrated with the people sitting behind him. The entire sequence was caught on video.
Kempf told Stuff.co.nz that the grateful cell phone owner bought him the footage from the ride as a thank you.
“The funniest reaction was when we had got off the rollercoaster and you go down to look at the photos and videos they take and half the people there seemed to be watching our screen and then everyone started cheering and clapping when it happened.”
