A teenage cyclist who was left critically ill in hospital in a suspected hit-and-run attack has died after losing his fight for survival.
Amrou Greenidge, 18, suffered serious head injuries when he was allegedly deliberately knocked down by a Mini in Fulham on Sunday, before being assaulted as he lay on the ground.
Amrou was rushed to hospital in a critical condition but died from his injuries yesterday, police said this morning. Two teenage boys have now been charged with his murder.
The teenage suspects, aged 16 and 17, will appear at Highbury Corner magistrates court this morning, where the 17-year-old also faces a charge of possession of an offensive weapon.
A third teenager, aged 19, has also been arrested on suspicion of murder but is currently being treated in hospital for burn injuries.
Police say Amrou, from Fulham, was found injured in the street in Broomhouse Lane at around 2.45pm on Sunday, and is believed to have been run over by a Mini Countryman before being assaulted.
Detectives believe the victim was riding a bike when he was attacked.
The car suspected of being involved in the attack was later found burnt out in Dymock Street, Fulham.
The two teenagers were due to appear in the dock this morning, and have not yet entered any pleas.
