Amount of prize money Bolton Wanderers, Derby County & Sheffield Wednesday could make from FA Cup

Bolton Wanderers begin their FA Cup journey this weekend when they enter the world's oldest domestic cup competition.

The Whites are at home and host fellow League One side Barnsley at the University of Bolton Stadium. The first round fixture takes place this weekend and kick-off at 2pm on Saturday, November 5.

The first round sees the 48 teams from League One and League Two enter the competition. They join the 32 sides from the non-league pyramid who have made it through the qualifying stages of the competition.

All 40 games will take place across the course of this weekend. Teams will have ambitions of progressing as far as possible in the competition, not just for the dream of making it to Wembley, but for the prize money reward on offer too.

Victors in the second round will win another £67,000, while the third round is when the Premier League and Championship teams enter the fray. Successful sides at this stage pocket a further £105,000.

Teams which win in the fourth round win £120,000, while those who triumph in the fifth round will win £225,000. At the quarter-final stage, winners will pocket approaching £500,000.

Semi-final winners will £1m, while those who lose at Wembley will receive £500,000. The eventual winners of the competition will win not just the FA Cup trophy, but also £2,000,000, with the runners-up claiming £1,000,000.
